Thomas Williams is an Australian designer with over 12 years experience working across brand identity, publishing and digital products. He has worked and collaborated with industry leaders and global brands including Apple, Patagonia, MINI, Xero, and Sonos. Thomas’ work has been awarded and recognized globally and can be found in publications by Thames & Hudson, Unit Editions, and Gestalten. He has lectured at numerous Universities around Australia and delivered keynotes at conferences including Semi-Permanent, The Design Conference and Creative Mornings.
In 2009 Thomas founded Melbourne-based Design Studio, Hunt & Co. In his role as Creative Director, Thomas led a diverse range of projects with clients, including Lend Lease, Driza-Bone, Melbourne Olympic Parks, Vasse Felix, and Xero.
In 2011 he founded Made Publishers, a boutique publishing company with a focus on design and culture. Made Publishers has published over 20 editions of Process Journal, MADE and Nourished Journal, all of which can be found in stockists globally, including MoMA (New York) and The Design Museum (London).
In 2015 Thomas relocated to the United States, living and working in both Los Angeles and New York. In late 2015 he took on the role of VP & Design Director of Digital Product at The Wall Street Journal. He has designed experiences that are regularly used by millions, across the WSJ Apps, platforms and WSJ.com. In early 2018 one of Thomas’s projects, the WSJ iOS App was recognized with a Webby award for ‘Best News App’.
In 2018 Thomas also launched Construct, a new digital product that creates responsive, web-based fee proposals. He spent over two years designing almost every aspect of the product from the ground up.
He currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
